WEX Global 2026 Highlights

and what comes next

Star Star

At WEX Global 2026, one message came through clearly, the role of water is evolving.

No longer viewed as a standalone infrastructure challenge, water is increasingly recognised as part of a complex, interconnected system; which is shaping how we manage energy, resources, industry and economic value in a changing world.

This year’s event marked a shift from vision to action.

Global leaders came together not only to explore ideas, but to demonstrate how integrated approaches, from digital transformation and energy optimisation to circular resource systems and cross-sector collaboration, are already being implemented.

What became clear is that the next challenge is not innovation alone, but scale.

Scaling solutions. Scaling investment. Scaling impact.

This sets the direction for WEX Global 2027, where the focus will move towards enabling a water-positive economy. An emerging framework in which water is actively enhanced, regenerated and embedded within wider economic systems, requiring coordinated action across sectors, geographies and disciplines.

Our official highlights video above captures the conversations, insights and partnerships that defined WEX Global 2026.

But this is not the end of the story.

Save the date:

WEX Global 2027

As we look ahead, WEX Global will continue to connect leaders and innovators shaping the future of water, energy and infrastructure.

We are also expanding the conversation.

Introducing:

WEX Global Bioeconomy Summit (WEXBIO)
2-4 November 2026
Lisbon, Portugal

This new event will focus on the growing bioeconomy, exploring how organic waste streams can be transformed into valuable resources, and how water and wastewater systems are becoming platforms for circular innovation.

Together, these events reflect a shared direction of travel: towards a more connected, resource-efficient and resilient global system.
