Country Technology Partner WEX Global 2026
Well known for its (water) inventiveness the Dutch will join WEX global 2024 as Country Technology Partner. In the Netherlands, water technology plays an important role in transforming a linear economy into a circular one. Innovation is key to this transformation. That the Netherlands takes water (technology) very seriously is evidenced by the recent investment of €135 million, by the Dutch government for the Water Technology Growth Plan.
Climate change puts enormous pressure on water resources. The growing population and demands for water require resilient, robust water supplies. Clean water for people, industry and food production are a global challenge. The scope of this problem is wide and varied and so are the solutions. The Dutch trade mission is part of the WTEX10 programme, which is powered by the ministry of economics and climate, ministry of infrastructure and water management, TKI Water Technology and Water Alliance.
Water Alliance is the network organisation for the Dutch water technology sector with more than 100 members (mostly SMEs). Water Alliance supports water technology companies with (inter)national matchmaking, networking and business development. The most important activities of the Water Alliance are: International and national branding and lobby, (inter)national and cross-sectoral matchmaking, organising and coordinating trade missions, organising (inter)national events and tailor-made advice for water technology companies. All with a clear goal to accelerate business.
Moreover, Water Alliance is part of Water Campus Leeuwarden. This is the European innovation ecosystem where companies, research institutes and governments cooperate in the field of water technology. It brings together a complete chain of innovation for water technology, from first idea, research & development, specialised laboratories, a water application centre, various demo sites, launching customers to international applications with commercial companies.

CirTec
CirTec aims to contribute actively to a sustainable society. They focus on the recovery of resources such as the recycling of used cellulose (toilet paper) from sewage treatment, and the use of low value residual heat for evaporation of concentrated streams. They offer different screening and filtration options, such as rotating belt finesieves (IntenSieve®), as well as sludge dewatering equipment. The Crescendo evaporation technology can also be applied for stripping, scrubbing and cooling.
NX Filtration
NX Filtration is an innovative producer of membrane products for treating water and filtering beverages. NX Filtration produces advanced hollow fiber membrane modules for nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and microfiltration applications. Its unique direct nanofiltration concept was designed to remove micropollutants, color, nano plastics, selective salts and pharmaceuticals from water in one single step: without pre-treatment and without the use of chemicals. Together with a production method based on green chemistry and significant energy savings during operation, this provides a unique and sustainable solution.
